EML were given a 60 minute window for a team building conference break out session at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire. With 200 guests in attendance and limited space we were asked to provide an activity that created the analogy of 'everyone playing their part in order to move forward'.
Solution:
We decided to adapt our Plumber's Nightmare activity and provide 30 identical kits to the conference group. Working in teams Tribal Resourcing had 45 minutes to create a self standing structure that linked all of the way around the perimeter of the conference suite from one side of the stage to the other. Although each team was working individually if one team failed to construct their section the of the pipeline the whole project would fail.
Outcome:
They did it with 60 seconds to spare! Some teams achieved their section and then roved the room looking to help those teams that were struggling. When the 45 minutes was up we put a marble in one end of the giant pipeline and some 6 minutes later it emerged from the other end. This task would never have been achieved had the whole conference delegate not contributed.
