Team Building with Warriors

Just minutes from our head office stands the impressive Sixways Stadium, home to the Premiership Rugby side Worcester Warriors. Despite working all over Europe it’s fantastic to have such an impressive venue for corporate events right on our doorstep.

With a new £8m Slick Systems Stand that can be opened out into a 130 metre long facility, 65 acres of green space and 1000 parking spaces; Sixways Stadium is EML’s venue of choice for team building events in the Midlands.

EML has a reciprocal relationship with the Sixways Events team, supplying a range of exclusive Warrior team building days on site and relying on them to provide our clients with state of the art conference facilities and high quality catering.

The Rich, The Famous and MBTI

So are you are an ENFJ or an ISTP? In our MBTI Workshops you’ll learn about Type and the differences between you and your colleagues. The question is ‘who are you similar to?’

A number of ‘interesting’ websites are dedicated to assigning Type to famous individuals and fictional characters through behavioural observation – here are a few results that impressed and amused us in equal measure:

MBTI Type

ISTJ George Bush / Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh)
ISFJ Queen Elizabeth II / Dr. Watson (Sherlock Holmes)
INFJ Oprah Winfrey / Miss Marple
INTJ Augustus Caesar / Hannibal Lecter
ISTP Clint Eastwood / Popeye the Sailor
ISFP Steven Spielberg / Gandalf the Grey
INFP Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis / E.T the ExtraTerrestrial
INTP Charles Darwin / Linus ("Peanuts")
ESTP Madonna / Scarlett O'Hara
ESFP Dolly Parton / Tigger (Winnie the Pooh)
ENFP Robin Williams / Laertes (Hamlet)
ENTP Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart / Bugs Bunny
ESTJ Bette Davies / Mrs. Harbottle (All Creatures Great and Small)
ESFJ William J. Clinton / Donald Duck

Back in Business?

With journalists proudly announcing that the recession is over, teams all over the UK are taking a pinch of salt and preparing themselves for another challenging year.

Lack of job security has impacted on morale across the spectrum creating a need for meaningful and affordable team building events. EML now offers cost effective products that can be run in clients’ offices and tailored to provide maximum return on investment.

The Hard Sell is a team building programme that offers both unrivalled malleability and a high impact. Launching a new brand and following the commercial process through to a final presentation provides management with unique insight into how their teams work together.

UKTI has used our Hard Sell to focus on pitching UK opportunities to overseas investors whereas the medical insurance company BUPA has used it as a tool to analyse their own internal processes.

On a lighter note Hard Sell has recently been used by High School pupils to launch world beating products like flying potion and invisibility cream; proving that Hard Sell can be great fun as well as great value.

Weatherproof Team Building

As the snow continues to fall across Britain, EML has received calls from clients with imminent events asking anxious questions like, "What will we do if we can't get to the venue?" or "What will it cost to reschedule?".

Out clients need not have worried; EML provides all of its activities in-house and can be very flexible in their provision when confronted with bad weather.

3 things to bear in mind when you book a team building event with us:
  • We will always reschedule the activity free of charge wherever possible.

  • We will always provide you with a weatherproof option wherever posible.

  • We include mini marquees, easy up shelters and ponchos as standard.

You can't always depend on the weather but EML is always a safer bet.

New School Thinking

Calling all HR Professionals...

More and more Schools are turning to corporate team building events to equip pupils with the necessary skills to move into the world of employment.

EML's corporate clients have long used team building to aid in the development of their own graduate intake but now Schools are turning to EML to run team building programmes for their students. Typical learning objectives include the development of student leadership skills, increased commercial awareness and confidence building.

In response to this surge in demand from Schools, EML has set up a bespoke mini site dedicated to our range of School Team Building Events and as their future employers we would be interested to hear your thoughts..... http://www.emlschools.co.uk/

Plain Sailing - Team Building with Yachts

One of the most effective stimuli for moulding a strong team is the challenge of adversity. Few mediums for team building capture the spirit of this ethos like crewing a yacht in a race.
Helming a 40ft yacht competently is important in a close quarter race but even the best helmsman is rendered impotent if the crew are slow to respond under pressure and reluctant to trust in each other's abilities.
EML has launched a series of 'Team Sail' days designed to get novice yachtsmen (and women) onto the water and forge stronger teams. Out of Hamble in Hampshire we offer a range of training days, competition races or even hospitality all on the protected waters of the Solent.
Although perceived as a premium product, yacht based team events often work out to be more cost effective than traditional conference based events. When you charter and EML yacht you don't need to worry about additional day delegate rates or even your overnight accommodation!
Yo ho me hearties!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and huge heart felt thank you to all of our customers in 2009.

It's been the most challenging trading year that we have ever faced. In the first half of 2009 we noticed a significant reduction in the amount of event enquiries from both existing and new customers as everyone held their breath during an incredibly difficult time.

The second half of 2009 has given us good reason to feel optimistic. More and more customers from a wide range of private and public sectors were once again looking to rebuild and fine tune their new teams and they have found an aggressively priced EML well placed to help them.

Here's to a better year for UK businesses in 2010; but if you don't want to leave it to chance and you want your team as motivated for the challanges ahead as you are - give us a call!
