Why should we use EML?
Unlike many events companies all of our products are packages are provided by us; using EML staff and equipment. This ensures that you get professional and trained people on your event and also excellent value for money – enabling you to get a better return on your investment.
Who do you work with?
We work with organisations of all sizes from small local businesses to large multinationals. We are proud to have worked with a long list of successful companies (including many of the FTSE 100). We gain most satisfaction from the fact that many of clients come back to us, time and time again. Please look at our case studies to read some examples of what we have done for these in more detail.
Is there any flexibility in your formats?
Of course. We have tried to illustrate what we do by grouping ideas and formats into something that is easy for the buyer to understand. These however can be changed and tailored until the desired event is achieved. If you really can’t find what you’re after then contact us about something really bespoke.
Where do you run your events?
We can run our events at any suitable location throughout the UK and Europe. We are not tied into any specific venues or sites – but usually operate in hotels or conference centres. We have also regularly run events at client’s offices, sports clubs and local parks.
What do you mean by free venue sourcing?
If you haven’t already selected a venue or location to hold your event we can offer you assistance to find somewhere suitable. Although we are not tied to specific hotels or locations we have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in this field. If you tell us what you are looking for we will provide you with some suggestions of suitable facilities. We do not charge this service and you will pay the same price as if you went to the venue directly.
What group sizes do you cater for?
There are not set numbers for our packages. We usually suggest 8 people as a minimum for most formats, but regularly cater for groups of several hundred.
How much do your events cost?
Although are we have tried to package our most popular formats for you to select from, each event will still be individual to your group (i.e. numbers, location, duration etc). It is therefore fairly difficult to provide indicative pricing, but if you contact us we will endeavour to give you a price, based on your requirements, instantly over the phone.
How do we pay for your services?
When a client returns a completed booking form to us, our accounts team will generate an invoice reconfirming the quoted amounts and outlining all of the EML's payment details. In addition to BACs payments and cheques we accept all major credit cards (please note: card payments maybe be subject to a modest transaction fee - speak to your sales representative for more information)
What about insurance and health and safety?
We hold public liability and indemnity insurance to the value of £5 million. All participants will be given a health and safety briefing by our event team prior to commencement and risk assessments are also available on request. Where appropriate a paramedic is included in the price of the event for that added piece of mind.
What are the tax implications of running team building days and events?
It seems that in 2009 / 2010 tax year that the rules are going to stay the same. The following sections of HMRC Help Sheet 207 2009 testify to the Tax Exemptions for our product range.
Source: HS207 2009
i. Employer-funded or employer-reimbursed training
This exemption covers the costs borne by your employer of work-related training within the whole range of practical or theoretical skills and competences you are reasonably likely to need in your present or likely future jobs with your employer.
The exemption includes:
-
Employee development schemes
-
Activities intended to develop skills you need in leadership and teamwork
-
Training which is provided by a third party rather than your employer
All the ways in which training can be delivered are covered including full-time and part-time training, internal training courses run by your employer, courses which are run externally or by a third party, and courses which comprise any mixture of these.
ii. Christmas or other Annual Party
Annual parties or alternative functions of a similar nature, such as a Christmas dinner and a summer party, which are open to staff generally and which cost no more than £150 a head in total to provide.
When you consider that pretty much everything we offer comes in under £150 per head including the venue and catering, it's safe to say that we are in a strong position in terms of offering for the current tax year.
Extreme Team Building!
